OPINION —I am from a military family. Some of my relatives fought for this country. My husband and many of my friends were and are law enforcement.

ICE is not law enforcement. Real police do not hide behind masks, arrest and detain people without due process, murder citizens who are exercising their Constitutional rights or terrorize neighborhoods and schools. They do not violate the Constitution of this country.

This is not about politics. This is about human rights and everything this country has stood for until now. All of it is destroyed daily by this band of “authorized” terrorists. And, hey, fellow white people, it isn’t just the brown people they are targeting. They go after anyone who gets in their way, or who tries to help others who get in their way. Witness the man shot 10 times while on the ground.

Surprise has been a peaceful place, but it will not be if this warehouse for humans is opened for business. There will be protests. There will be disruptions in our economy.

I hope with all my heart that no one is killed — but it happens everywhere when ICE is involved.

We need to fight this here, everywhere, or the USA is going down. It is already on its knees.
