Hundreds of top CEOs decry ‘voter supression’ in Arizona

Local, national businesses warn efforts harm democracy

As the Arizona Senate continues plans to recount and investigate last November’s election; and the governor considers signing new and restrictive voter laws — local and national business leaders warn their actions may have consequences.

Civic Alliance, a coalition of more than 1,100 national businesses, issued a public statement decrying efforts led by Arizona Senate President Karen Fann, R-Prescott, which they say are illegal.

The scope of work issued to Cyber Ninja and other firms as part of the Senate’s probe includes a plan — apparently already under way — to contact voters directly, by phone and even door-to-door, to verify information about their ballots and voting history.
