Heat affects hundreds at Luke Days, more than 25 taken to hospitals

More than 400 people were affected by the heat Saturday at Luke Days, and at least 25 were taken to hospitals to be treated, officials said.

Brig. Gen. David J. Berkland said Saturday night that 90 percent of those affected by the heat were under the age of 12, older than 60 and those with pre-existing medical and heart conditions.

“For everyone's safety, we strongly advise staying home tomorrow if you are in one of those groups," he said.
