Howard V. Cassells, Major, USAF (Retired), passed away peacefully on October 23, 2018, shortly after turning 98. His spirit is off to join Naoma, his loving wife of 66 years.He joined the Army Air Corps and was a proud veteran, retiring as a Major from the Air Force after 20 years. Howard served as a flight instructor and weather observer. During World War II and the Korean War, he instructed aviators how to fly bombers.After Air Force retirement, Howard worked in sales and was a Million Dollar agent with Ken Meade Realty. His passions were writing poetry, duplicate bridge and ballroom dancing. He volunteered with the Sheriff's Posse.Howard leaves behind his wife Shirley, whom he has loved and been devoted to for almost 9 years as well as his 4 children: Vesta (Earle) Drake, Marla (Tom) McLean, Linda Stewart and Mark (Lilian) Cassells; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.He is greatly missed, but we know he will welcome us at our journey's end, where we can celebrate our new life and family love again. Howard's memorial service will be held at Palm West Community Church, 13845 W. Stardust Blvd., Sun City West, AZ on Thursday, November 15th, at 11:00 A.M.
