How this Scottsdale native supports local youth through his moving business

Making an impact on youth charities in the Valley

When Scottsdale native Justin Hodge purchased his first moving truck off Craigslist in 2008 to start his moving business, he never would have envisioned its impact on local youth charities 16 years later.

With over 30,000 moves and a fleet of 25 trucks and tractor-trailers hitting the road across the country, Hodge and his business partner Josh Jurhill saw the amount of waste produced from moving, spurring them to action.

“We’ve been able to get millions of pounds of furniture and food to stay out of landfills and go to the charities that are most in need in the Valley,” Hodge said, co-founder of Muscular Moving Men, which donates such items to charities around the Valley.
