How long will America stand alone?

Posted

In Mazatlan, Mexico, in 1980 I experienced armed soldiers on the street and rooftops during a cruise of the Mexican Riviera. They were heavily armed and “on point” much like guard dogs.

Similar scenes are playing out in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and soon other large Democratically run cities. National Guard soldiers and Marines are deployed to keep the peace (or intimidate locals), help fight crime (run roughshod over local law enforcement) and perform beautification projects while armed.

These are scary times with a Republican administration starting an internal political and jurisdictional (city and state versus federal authority) conflict.

At the president’s direction, states are changing congressional districts in an attempt to gain more Republican seats in Congress. Blue states are countering. The goal is to hang onto or gain congressional power in the 2026 midterms, and millions of dollars are being wasted playing this political tug-of-war.

Political strife, economic uncertainty, international tension due to tariffs and demeaning name-calling have significantly increased the stress level for all Americans. The guise of making America safe has increased the temperature of our pot of American patriots to near the boiling point.

The administration has made us a nation that stands alone. European allies, North and South American allies and others have been demeaned, had treaties unilaterally thrown out and have been bullied.

Many see the recent sinking of a boat off of Venezuela that killed 11 on board in international waters as an act of war. How appropriate that this president, seeking a Nobel Peace Prize, wants to change the Department of Defense to the Department of War.

How long before American patriots come to their senses and rid the USA of the evil consuming our land much like happened in Europe in the last century? Will the next war be political, red patriot versus blue patriot, or international? If international, who will stand to fight with us?
