To me, Trump’s campaign policy, “America First,” always sounded reasonable. Do the conservative thing and solve all those problems created by the radical left Marxists (what he calls the Democratic Party) under the presidencies of Obama and Biden. And then America would be great again, along with being free of all those international treaties and organizations – many, if not all, who have taken financial advantage of our great country; we would save bundles of dollars.
But events of late – none ever mentioned during Trump’s 2024 campaign – have cast a pall on this hopeful future. Purchasing Greenland, making Canada the 51st state, forcibly taking over the Panama Canal and, lastly, “Owning Gaza” and turning it into the “Riviera of the Middle East” don’t seem to address the main issues of America’s middle class, like the price of eggs, gallon of gas, new home prices and rental costs, etc. Additionally, all of the above seem to be kind of pricey to accomplish, so who’s going to pay the tab? You, me or perhaps Elon will throw a few billions Trump’s way with maybe just a few strings attached?
“America Last.”
