Housing developer to pay nearly $3M for water line, Apache Junction water district resource fees

The developer of a planned 256-lot single-family housing subdivision will pay more than $2.8 million combined for a water line extension and fees to the Apache Junction Water Utilities Community Facilities District.

Superstition Vista, on 35 acres of vacant land, takes the mantle as a first for the municipality.

“This is our first one that’s south of Baseline; this is on Baseline and Cortez. We’ve known that they’ve been wanting to come for a time and they’re finally getting organized enough to go to this next step,” City Manager Bryant Powell said at a recent meeting of the water district board, which is comprised of City Council members.
