Hospice of the West, senior communities honor veterans

Hospice of the West is honoring veterans by partnering with local senior living communities for a variety of events.

Hospice of the West and Chaparral Winds Retirement Community, 16614 N. West Point Pkwy., will honor more than 25 veterans 9 to 10 a.m. Nov. 10, with Luke Air Force’s Color Guard taking part as well as a representative from Debbie Lesko’s office. The Chaparral Winds Choir will also perform patriotic pieces with each veteran and veteran’s spouse being honored.

Hospice of the West and Vista Winds Assisted Living and Memory Care, 28775 N. Vistancia Blvd., are holding a Veterans Day event 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 10 with each veteran honored with a certificate and a pin as well as the spouses.

Hospice of the West is hosting a ceremony Nov. 10 at each Ridges of Peoria Senior Living building to honor all the communities’ veterans: 9 to 10 a.m. at Arbor Ridges (Primarily Assisted Living), 11 a.m. to noon at Gardens Ridges (Independent Living) and 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Senita Ridges (Memory Care Unit). Peoria High School’s JROTC Air Force is tentatively planned to be present at the first two events with each veteran receiving a certificate and a pin.

Hospice of the West and Solana at the Park Assisted Living Community, 14581 W. Parkwood Drive, will honor resident veterans with breakfast 10 to 11 a.m. Nov. 11. Veterans will also receive a certificate and pin.
