HonorHealth to invest $250M over 15 years in former Steward health care facilities

HonorHealth has assumed operations of Steward Health Care’s facilities in the East Valley as of Sept. 11, and according to its CEO, there will be roughly $250 million invested into these facilities to incorporate them into the HonorHealth system.

Steward filed for bankruptcy protection in May, prompting the Arizona Attorney General’s Office to take action to ensure the impacted facilities were maintaining their commitment to patients.

Local facilities involved are Mesa’s Mountain Vista Medical Center, Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital, Steward Mesa Hospital - Emergency Room, Florence Hospital and multiple outpatient physician practices.
