HonorHealth removes sculpture, apologizes after new artwork considered offensive

HonorHealth is apologizing after the Scottsdale-based health care group debuted a sculpture that drew criticism and was declared offensive by the Asian American community.

The statue, featuring a Chinese dragon to serve as a visual representation for the COVID-19 pandemic’s origins, was intended to honor health care workers.

One day after the unveiling, HonorHealth officials said they removed the statue.
