HonorHealth, a Valley health care system serving more than 5 million people in the Scottsdale and greater Phoenix metropolitan, held a ribbon cutting ceremony July 21 for the opening of its latest health care facility on the border of Paradise Valley.
The $20 million facility, located at 5316 E. Shea Blvd., suite 150, opens Tuesday, July 25.
The dual care retail model will provide convenient access to a full-service emergency room and urgent care, offering a health care experience that will take the guesswork out of where to seek care when feeling ill or for an injury, according to a press release.
HonorHealth partnered with Intuitive Health to build the 13,044-square-foot space that includes full X-ray, CT scan and laboratory testing capabilities.
“This innovative model, brought to Arizona by HonorHealth, provides a complete spectrum of care while only billing patients for the level of care they need, rather than the type of facility they visit,” HonorHealth CEO Todd LaPorte said in the release. “Additionally, by providing both urgent and emergency care at the same location, patients will benefit from reduced wait times to get the treatment they need and get back to their lives quicker than traditional emergency room models.”
“The new facility will eliminate the need for residents of Paradise Valley, Scottsdale and Phoenix to decide between urgent care or higher-level emergency care in their time of need. Patients do not have to make appointments and will be seen by emergency-level trained staff while only getting billed for the level of service needed,” said Thom Herrmann, CEO of Intuitive Health.
Phoenix Councilmember for District 3 Debra Stark shared in the release, “I am excited to see this new HonorHealth Complete Care facility open to serve residents and improve access to care for the entire community. The convenient access to a full spectrum of emergency and urgent care services will support our growing community now and in the future.”
HonorHealth Complete Care – Paradise Valley will be open 24-hours a day, seven days a week, and will be staffed with board-certified physicians and advanced practitioners, the release stated.
Urgent care services are available 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. with emergency room services available around the clock. Visit HonorHealth.com/completecare for more information.
