Honeywell in Phoenix to help develop tech in air taxis

Honeywell’s involvement in helping aerospace companies with air taxi cockpit technology has started to get off the ground.

Last week, Honeywell and United Kingdom-based Vertical Aerospace announced a longterm agreement that expands its existing partnership where Honeywell is expected to develop fly-by-wire systems. Those systems operate where aircraft can be electronically controlled by a pilot rather than mechanically, said Adam Kress, director of external communications at Honeywell in Phoenix.

Vertical Aerospace and Honeywell want to help certify the Honeywell Anthem flight deck for an eventual use by airlines, Kress said.
