A shed addition may be constructed close to the property line at a home east of Stapley Drive and north of Broadway Road in Mesa, a city board decided recently.
A special-use permit for the 0.2-acre property in the single residence 6 district was approved Oct. 4 by the Mesa Board of Adjustment in a 5-0 vote of a consent agenda with other items. Chair Alexis Wagner and Boardmember Chris Jones were absent.
The original home was built in the 1950s in compliance with all city building and zoning codes in effect at that time. The site does not conform with current development standards, Planner Sergio Solis said in a written staff report.
