Phoenix city courts sent many traffic cases online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The courts now plan to expand that pilot program so all traffic cases have the option of being held online. The city’s top judge says the program could also be expanded to other types of cases.
Phoenix Chief Presiding Judge B. Don Taylor III said when he started in the position, he hoped to “take the court out into the community” through satellite locations to make it so people didn’t have to travel across the city to a hearing.
