Holiday shopping weekend set at Superstition Mountain Museum

The Superstition Mountain Museum’s holiday boutiques are returning in December.
The weekend of Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 9-10, means big holiday shopping and savings opportunities for visitors to the museum, 4087 N. Apache Trail (State Route 88) in Apache Junction, according to a release.
“It also is a great opportunity to keep the family in the holiday spirit and enjoy all of the old-fashioned decorations that blanket the barn and museum,” it states. “The museum will host artists and crafters displaying and selling their unique handmade items. Tables and tents will be placed amidst the decorations on the museum patio and grounds. Come and share the festive mood that will prevail and you just might find the perfect Christmas gift for someone — or yourself.”
The big trains will be running and a free ore stamp mill demonstration is 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9. Admission to the event and parking are free.
In the museum gift shop you’ll find unique, investment-quality Native American hand-crafted pieces and silver jewelry made with amethyst from the Four Peaks Amethyst Mine, the only amethyst mine in Arizona. Combined with the fact that as a nonprofit organization, the shop does not charge sales tax, the savings can be very significan., the release states.
