PHOENIX – Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs on Friday vetoed legislation that would have created a state-issued license plate recognizing Charlie Kirk and his Turning Point USA.
The bill would have authorized the Arizona Department of Transportation to create a special license plate that Arizonans could purchase. It would serve as a memorial to Kirk, the controversial conservative Arizona resident who was assassinated last year while speaking to college students in Utah.
It also would have helped raise money for Turning Point USA, the organization he founded.
