Hit and run leaves bicyclist dead on Phoenix street

Detectives are looking for the suspect responsible for hitting and killing a 63-year-old man while he was riding his bicycle near 31st and Northern avenues, Phoenix police said.

The collision occurred about 3:25 a.m. Tuesday. Police found James Thomas in the street with critical injuries. Fire department personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

Thomas was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle along Northern Avenue, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.

No suspects have been identified, and police encourage those with information to call Silent Witness.
