Historic Glendale cemetery could see 1st rate hike since ’09

Founded in 1900, Glendale Memorial Park posting less revenue than operating costs

Rates for the city’s historic Glendale Memorial Park Cemetery may be going up.

When the City Council reconvenes for its first meeting since its July hiatus, among the Aug. 8 workshop discussion topics will be a potential rate increase at the 123-year-old cemetery, which hasn’t seen rates go up since 2009.

Glendale Director of Field Operations Michelle Woytenko said Wednesday that the rate hikes in general are proposed as 45% and would potentially take place later this current fiscal year.
