Hotel San Carlos, known for once lodging movie stars such as Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe, is set to get an $80 million remodel, according to owner RB Phoenix LLC.

On Aug. 11, RB Phoenix LLC applied for $500,000 in grant funding from the city of Phoenix Historic Preservation Demonstration Project Program to help with the renovation.
