ASU graduate student Yeny Contreras Herrera is this year’s recipient of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Tony & Milena Astorga EXITO Scholarship for $10,000.

The fund supports graduate-level scholarships for Hispanic students pursuing advanced degrees in healthcare.

This year’s winner is pursuing a doctor of nursing practice degree and said she will use the financial aid “to focus on becoming a nurse practitioner and contribute to the growth and development of advanced nursing practice in my community.

“Being a recipient of this scholarship fuels me to give back to my community upon graduation to provide high-quality, equitable and cultural-based health care to those most in need in underserved populations.”
