East Valley district settles lawsuit with former superintendent choice

The Higley Unified School District Governing Board has approved a settlement with its former superintendent designee who had his contract rescinded in 2024.

The board voted unanimously to approve a proposed settlement with Nate Carman, who initially was the board’s choice in February 2024 to be the permanent replacement for Dawn Foley, who had resigned suddenly the previous year.

The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
