High school students in Scottsdale protest ICE’s presence

Chaparral sophomore Finley Seidel doesn’t approve of what Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are doing across the country and doesn’t want them in the Valley.

That’s why she joined more than 100 other Chaparral High School students at the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Shea Boulevard Jan. 30 to protest the federal agency’s presence in the community.

“We’re here because the discrimination and dehumanization of people in our country right now is appalling,” Seidel said. “What ICE is doing is not only horrific, no matter what your stance, but it’s also inhumane.”
