Hero of hearing loss: ‘The Hulk’ visits Desert Voices

Desert Voices is a preschool for deaf, hard of hearing kids

On Jan. 31, Lou Ferrigno, the original “Incredible Hulk” actor, fitness expert, retired bodybuilder and brand ambassador for Cochlear, visited Desert Voices preschool in Phoenix near Paradise Valley.

Desert Voices is Arizona’s only nonprofit listening and spoken language school for infants and children born deaf or hard of hearing.

Ferrigno shared his story with an audience of parents and educators about his life with hearing loss and how finally receiving cochlear implants nearly two years ago has improved the clarity of his hearing, his speech and conversations.
