Here are some costs that went into bringing a new helicopter to Peoria

City spent $900,000 on air unit before helicopter landed in city

The city of Peoria has spent at least $900,000 preparing for the air unit and the arrival of a helicopter that will serve public safety.

This is not included as part of the annual maintenance and operations budget for the air unit the city states remains budgeted at $1 million.

Last year, the city received a one-time allocation of $17.6 million from the Arizona legislature from which $3.3 million paid for the helicopter.
