Herbert Marshall Carl, age 77, died peacefully in Sun City West, AZ on 9/18/23 with his wife and 3 children by his side.
Herb was born in Milwaukee, WI on 4/13/46, to parents Leonard and Norma. He attended and played football at Riverside High School and graduated from the University of WI after serving 2 yrs in the U.S. Army. Herb married his wife of 54 years, Barbara (Schmitz), in 1969 and was proud father to Steven (Jenny), Michael, and Amy (Steve) and grandfather to Alexa, Brian, Abby, Jack, Erik & Ryan. He was an entrepreneur owning 7 craft stores and a painting co. Herb and Barb retired to Sun City West, AZ in 2003.
Herb’s easy-going attitude and great sense of humor was loved by all. Herb loved traveling and cruising with Barb, history, reading, WI sports, playing cards, walking, investing, and traveling back home to Milwaukee each summer to spend time with friends & family.
Celebration of life: 10/2 Milwaukee Athletic Club, Milwaukee, WI 4-8pm
Memorial service & reception: 10/9 Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Sun City West, AZ 12 noon
