CASEY BAGLEY

AGE: 37

BUSINESS NAME: One Step Beyond, Inc.

WHAT I DO: I am a cook at OSBI Culinary/Catering.

HOURS OF OPERATION: 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND HIGHLIGHTS: I graduated from Greenway High School in 2007, where I participated in cooking classes. A passionate dancer, I dedicate much of my free time to perfecting my moves. In 2023, I auditioned for America’s Got Talent, showcasing my impressive dance skills. Additionally, I am an offensive player for the One Step Coyotes ice hockey team.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND HIGHLIGHTS: I have been working in the culinary and catering industry since 2012. I have a true passion for cooking, and love preparing meals at home for my family — favorites include grilled cheese and spaghetti. When it comes to grilling, I enjoy barbecuing steaks, often with the help of my mother, Nancy Bagley.

WHAT I LIKE MOST ABOUT DOING BUSINESS HERE: I like making new foods and expanding my cooking knowledge and skills. I love the team I work with, too.

CHANGES I’D LIKE TO SEE IN THIS AREA: OSBI provided me with the skills and confidence I needed to land a position in catering. People with disabilities are often overlooked, yet we represent an untapped workforce that is eager to show up, work hard, and demonstrate our abilities.

WHAT I AM PROMOTING: Looking for top-notch catering? Choose OSBI Catering for your next event, and not only will you enjoy delicious food, but you’ll also be supporting a local business that provides meaningful work opportunities for me and my team. At OSBI, we offer a wide range of catering services, from buffet-style spreads to elegant sit-down plated dinners, all tailored to fit your needs.

WHAT IS OSBI CULINARY TRAINING AND CATERING PROGRAM? The One Step Beyond, Inc. (OSBI) Culinary Training and Catering Program teaches adults who have intellectual disabilities basic cooking skills needed for independent living. Those who exhibit an interest in expanding their skills continue to progress to more advanced training. Both a home-style kitchen and a commercial kitchen are used for hands-on learning.

FAVORITE COMMUNITY CAUSE AND WHY: One Step Beyond, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. I am passionate about assisting others through their programs, and I actively participate in both their day and employment programs.

MY FAMILY: I live in Phoenix with my parents. I have two chocolate Labrador dogs who are a big part of our family. I also have three siblings: two brothers and a sister. While my sister lives in Utah, my brothers are both based in Arizona and also provide me with Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS), including Respite and Habilitation.
