Helen Lucille Shaffer

Helen Lucille "Lucy" Shaffer, 86Helene Lucille "Lucy" Shaffer of Sun City West, lost her battle with pneumonia on Feb. 6, 2007. She is survived by a loving family consisting of her husband, Leon "Lee," daughter, Anna Wollenweber; six grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was born in Chillicothe, Mo., on Feb. 18, 1920. After graduation from high school, she moved to St. Louis, Mo., to attend nursing school at DePaul Hospital. She was employed as an registered nurse in varied responsibilities, including delivery room, physician"s office and as director of nursing and hospital administrator. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a donation to the St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, Mont., 59005.
