Heat-related deaths reach record high

Heat in Maricopa County has yet to let up.

This summer, the Valley saw record highs of 110-degree temps or higher for 55 consecutive days — beating the overall mark set in 2020, said Mark O’Malley, meteorologist from the National Weather Service in Phoenix.

On Thursday, another heat record was announced by the Maricopa County Public Health Department.
