Hearing on cell tower prompts lively discussion, no decision

A lively discussion led the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors to make a decision about an 80-foot-tall cell tower Wednesday.

The decision was to not make a decision.

The board tabled a Planning and Zoning hearing on a special use permit for a T-Mobile tower, set to be placed on the southeast corner of West Desert Hills Drive and Seventh Avenue in the Desert Hills part of New River. Local residents brought formidable opposition to Wednesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting, with seven people opposing the tower verbally.
