LITCHFIELD PARK - Hateva 'T' Smith Horn passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at La Loma Care Center, Litchfield Park. She was born Hateva Vivring Smith on March 4, 1919 to Arthur and Iola Smith in Greensboro, Md. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Business Administration. There she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority (Tri Delta). She also met Arthur M. Horn there. They were married from December 20, 1941 until his death on August 31, 1994. They lived many years in Silver Spring and Fairhaven, Md., then Stuart, Fla. 'T' was a member of Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, Sun City West. She was also a member of Kiva West Bridge Club. She was an avid Duplicate Bridge player, earning her ACBL Life Master in 1994. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and knitting, donating many of her baby blankets to charity. At Grandview Terrace, she enjoyed many exercise classes and was a member of the Residents' Council. Mrs. Horn was predeceased by her sister, Grayson Russell. 'T' and Arthur Horn are survived by their daughter, Sandra Horn; sons, Donald, John, and Roger Horn; grandchildren, Lauren Newberry, Eric Ruzicka, Michael Horn, William Horn, Debbie Easter, Karli Lintner, Emily Horn; and 18 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service was held at Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, Sun City West on December 15, 2015. Donations may be made to the Grandview Terrace Employee Appreciation Fund.
