Hart Pantry honored for supporting West Valley youth

Hart Pantry, or Helping At-Risk Teens, has been named the Pine District Business of the Month for April.

The all-volunteer nonprofit was founded seven years ago with the mission to work with local schools to provide support, encourage teens to finish high school and to increase their self-esteem, as well as to reach local teens who do not have enough food at home.

The Hart Pantry has a roster of more than 50 volunteers who purchase, sort, shelve and pack weekend and snack food packs, toiletries and basic clothing on a weekly basis. These items are sent to high schools in four local school districts: Dysart, Peoria, Glendale and Deer Valley school districts, which are then given to designated students by school staff.
