SUN CITY - Harold Geist, former resident of Fort Morgan, Colo., and graduate of Fort Morgan High School (class of '38) died on Sept. 26, 2011. He was born in Wellington, Colo., on May 11, 1921. He served in the Armed Forces during WW II, assigned to the 36th Photo Recon Squadron. After the war, he became a licensed electrical engineer in the states of Arkansas and Texas. He finished his career with Texas Utilities after 26 years of service. After retirement, he resided in Ft. Collins, Colo., and Sun City, Ariz. Harold was preceded in death by wife, Florence Warner Geist; and son, Don Edward Geist. He is survived by daughter, Jane Carolyn Murphy; step-son, Mark Littau; granddaughter, Lori Lynn Weatherford; and grandson Michael Allen Geist. He has five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Shortly before his death, Harold gave a generous gift to the Children's Hospital Colorado. Per his wishes, there will be no formal service. Each of us who loved him can celebrate the goodness of his life in their own way. His cremated remains will be buried in the Fort Morgan Cemetery.
