SUN CITY - Harold "Hal" Edward Welsh, 91, of Sun City, passed away on February 24, 2016. WWII Navy Veteran of the Pacific Theater. Beloved husband and father. He was born to Raymond and Elizabeth Welsh on October 2, 1924 in Chicago, Ill. He moved his family (wife Kate and two children) to Phoenix in 1958, and later retired from Honeywell in 1986. A devout fan of baseball, he formed the Glendale-St. Louis the King Little League Baseball program in 1966. After retiring, Hal lived out his dream of building a cabin and living in the high pine country of the White Mountains in northern Arizona. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Aurora (Mendiola) of 36 years; his children, Jane (Hal), Mick (Maria) and Mark (Ginelle); three grandchildren, Richard, Daniel and April; and three great grandchildren, Baylin, Colton and Tyler. A deeply religious man and the third of four brothers, he is also survived by his younger brother, Joe (Rita) of Sugarland Texas. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
