Hansen: America can be better than what we heard at Madison Square Garden rally

The theme of Donald Trump’s campaign event at Madison Square Garden in New York appeared to be denigration. Speaker after speaker insulted Puerto Ricans, Palestinians, blacks, immigrants and Kamala Harris.
What is most concerning is that this fits so well with Trump’s history of disdainfor others.
My hope for America is that it's not too late for us to be recalled to our better selves.
