About 20 protesters lined the sidewalk outside Church on the Green on Saturday, July 11, in Sun City West as Republican U.S. Rep. Abe Hamadeh, representing Arizona’s 8th Congressional District, addressed more than 70 members and guests of the Sun City West Republican Club inside.
The protesters carried signs reading “Abolish ICE for good,” “No one is illegal on stolen land,” and “Steaming heap of Hamadeh."
Jeremy Helfgot, one of the demonstrators, said he was protesting Hamadeh because he believes the congressman has failed to represent the district.
