Haber: Sen. Boyer has betrayed Legislative District 20's voters on COVID issue

Paul Boyer would have us believe he is a champion of the most vulnerable among us: our children. He would have us believe that he is a moderate within his party. And yet, he voted for House Bill 2892, which prohibits public schools from requiring students and staff to wear masks during a rapidly worsening pandemic.

Arizona currently has the second highest rate of infections in children in the U.S. So, why would anyone vote for a law that ignores science, wrests control over schools from locally elected school boards, and places our children at greater risk of infection? The answer? Pure politics.

Paul Boyer has put our children’s health in danger in order to placate the extremists of his party. Remember this betrayal of our children when Paul Boyer is up for reelection in 2022.

The children of LD 20 children deserve better.
