The week before the Uvalde, Texas, shooting at an elementary school, a Scottsdale Unified School District student brought a weapon on campus — illustrating how close to home safety threats can be.
In mid-May, Arcadia High School was placed on lock-down after two students reported that another student may have a gun.
In a letter sent to SUSD parents and staff from Superintendent Dr. Scott Menzel on May 26, following the elementary school shooting in Texas, Menzel used the Arcadia High incident as an example of “See Something, Say Something.”
