Peoria - Grover W. Rodich, 89, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2018.He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his brother, Lynn, sister, Karen, children: Susan, Lorraine, Donald, Bruce, Scott, Linda and John, along with 10 grandchildren. Grover was born in Long Beach, CA. He completed his formal education with a PhD in Industrial Management, University of Oregon, and served as an Assistant Dean of the School of Business at Portland State University where he was Professor Emeritus of Management. While directing elementary and high school bands in California, he completed his Master of Arts degree in Musical Performance (clarinet) from California State University, Sacramento. He was a charter member and past president of the California Band Director Association. Grover performed as clarinetist and clarinet soloist with bands and orchestras in Oregon, California, Colorado and Illinois. He was Concertmaster and soloist with the Sun City Concert Band. He was the founder and conductor of the Mellow Winds, a clarinet choir.Grover and his wife Nancy moved to Arizona from Oregon upon their retirement in 1990. Services will be at Sunland Memorial Park, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351 at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 10th.
