Group of Peoria Unified parents concerned about inclusion, diversity

There has been a growing number of concerns from a group of Peoria Unified School District parents over what is taught to their children, particularly around curriculum that involves inclusion and diversity.

The group says topics surrounding sex, the LGBTQ community and critical race theory should not be taught in elementary and high schools and are more suitable for college courses or discussions at home.

On the other hand, district officials say those topics are not part of PUSD’s curriculum or Arizona state standards.
