Group looking to bring back pro hockey to Phoenix adds board members

The group looking to bring back an NHL team to the Phoenix area is bolstering the board tasked with the undertaking.

The Advisory Panel on Pro Hockey in Arizona brought together a group of local business and political leaders in an effort to either land an expansion franchise or lure a team to the Valley following the loss of the Arizona Coyotes two years ago.

“Arizona is a hockey state, and it is evident by the outpouring of support from business leaders and community members that the public is passionate about the return of pro-hockey to Arizona,” said Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chairman Thomas Galvin in a press release. “With the support of Andrea Doan and community leaders who understand the economic importance of professional sports and nuances of building a successful NHL franchise in the state, I am confident we will be able to bring the right people together to make this a reality.”
