Reading the March 10 article on solar power ... Instead of building the numerous charging stations needed for this new wave of electric vehicle interest, I would like to suggest a segue.
Valley Metro rail is already electric: good. Now, let’s transition all of the public transportation options, such as Phoenix transit buses, Dial a Ride, Uber, Lyft and Ztrip to be mandatory electric.

Let’s not forget over-the-road buses providing service to all Arizona locations.
This way the general public can see, and experience, the supposed many advantages of electric transportation. This experimental time will also give leeway for “getting the kinks out” of EV transportation issues.
The novelty of public EV transportation options would build interest as the safer, cleaner and hopefully less expensive mode of public transportation.
