The Greater Phoenix Chamber announced Friday the selection of 11 women in three categories for the organizations Athena Awards, which recognize women in the Valley's business community.
The program, in its 37th year, highlights three groups of people: private sector, public sector and young professionals. Those named as finalists came from dozens of nominations and are chosen for their "excellence in business and leadership, dedication to the community, and support and mentorship of others."
“Spotlighting the women who are moving the Greater Phoenix area forward through the Athena Awards program is one of the Chamber’s proudest traditions,” said Todd Sanders, president & CEO of the Greater Phoenix Chamber. “These women make immeasurable contributions within their companies, their communities, and they are a driving force in making Arizona a top state in the nation.”
The finalists are:
Private Sector:
- Pam Giannonatti, corporate affairs manager, Kroger/Fry’s Food Stores
- Jenny Holsman Tetreault, vice president and associate general counsel, TPI Composites
- Joanne H. Osborne, owner and CFO, Osborne Jewelers
- Marian Zapata-Rossa, partner, Snell & Wilmer
Public Sector:
- Shannon Clancy, CEO, St. Vincent de Paul
- Angela Hughey, president, ONE Community Foundation
- Rosa Inchausti, city manager, city of Tempe
- Christina Spicer, co-CEO, Girl Scouts – Arizona Cactus-Pine Council
Young Professional:
- Kate Conway, vice president, government relations, Verra Mobility
- Kayla Gray, co-Founder and operations - knowledge donor, Commonspirit
- Hillary Walsh, founder and Lawyer, New Frontier Immigration Law
Winners of the awards will be announced at a lunch 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, 5350 E. Marriott Drive, Phoenix.
