Gray water recycling: One conservation tool cities won’t be pushing

Valley cities are encouraging water conservation, and as Arizona sees more cutbacks in its Colorado River water supply next year, many cities may offer rebates or other incentives for conservation efforts.

But one method they won’t be backing is gray water recycling.

It is not that gray water recycling is inherently bad. It’s that local cities believe it is redundant to wastewater recycling efforts they have spent millions to put in place.
