Grand opening of Surprise Costco slated for Sept. 24

Posted

Residents of the Northwest Valley have been waiting for it, especially those in the city of Surprise.

Costco is hosting a grand opening of its new location near Waddell Road and Sarival Avenue at 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, according to the company’s Facebook page.

The store has been a must have among Surprise residents in several retail surveys in past years. Plans have been in place since at least May 2019, but actual work on the location hasn't happened until late 2019 and early 2020.

The gas station opened in recent weeks and now awaits the grand opening of the store.

The nearest locations to the city of Surprise are in Glendale near 83rd Avenue and Bell Road and Avondale near 99th Avenue and McDowell Road. The Surprise location is likely to draw customers who live in areas of Sun City West, Waddell, north Goodyear and far west Glendale.
