Grand Music Club to bring in O’Popera in Surprise

Posted

The Sun City Grand Music Club is presenting an evening of music just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.

“A Grand O’Popera Concert: Sounds of Popera and Celtic Music” is coming with one performance at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 4 in the Sun City Grand Sonoran Plaza Theatre, 19753 N. Remington Drive.

A cash bar opens at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $15 per person for reserved seating and can be purchased at scgrandmusicclub.com, SunCityGrand.com or in person at The Grand activities desk, 19753 N. Remington Drive.

The activities desk is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets may also be available at the door 30 mintues before showtime.

Popera is a term used to describe music that combines elements of pop music and classical opera. The concert will combine a wee bit of opera with a splash of popular music and then add a good measure of lyrical Celtic music to make a show fit for the March season.

Soloists and groups, both vocal and instrumental, will be featured in a diverse mix of music as well as a presentation of photos of Ireland from the Grand Photo Club, and a collection of quilts displayed by the Grand Stitchers.

Co-directors are Katie Iverson and David Seaburg.
