The city of Goodyear and its residents will continue to use the Glendale Municipal Landfill for the vast majority of its solid waste disposal needs under an intergovernmental agreement to be voted on during a Jan. 23 council meeting.
City council first approved an agreement with Glendale officials in May 2019 that allowed Goodyear city staff and residents to use the Glendale landfill at 11480 W. Glendale Avenue.
The city will vote to extend the agreement at its next meeting. The agreement contains a negotiated rate of $31.75 per ton, which will increase 1.5% annually until the agreement's expiration in 2027.
