The city of Goodyear Veterans Day Tribute Festival will celebrate and support veterans.
The festival is a time for the Valley to come together to reflect and honor local heroes. The event includes a concert with performances by AZ Swing Kings and Fighter Country Talent Squad, displays of patriotic murals, a new exhibit featuring submitted photos and stories of local veterans, giveaways, activities for kids and food trucks.
It all goes from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 at Goodyear Civic Square Park, 1900 N. Civic Square.
Other ways to celebrate and honor veterans in Goodyear include:
- Flag Garden: Residents are invited to leave a message tied to an American Flag for veterans or a special veteran in their life. The flags will be planted, like a garden, outside of city hall and be on display during the event. Messages can be filled out at Goodyear City Hall, 1900 N. Civic Square, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Thursday, Nov. 9.
- Live Mural Painting: Artists will be painting patriotic murals in Civic Square Park all this week. Residents are welcome to stop by and see the artists in action. The murals will be on display at the event.
- Yard Signs: Residents can pick up a Veterans Day yard sign to display outside their home. Signs can be picked up at Goodyear City Hall between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Thursday, Nov. 9.
- Veterans Resource Day: Over a half dozen organizations providing resources to veterans will be set up at Civic Square Park to connect veterans to numerous services and programs. Everyone is welcome to attend from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Nov. 9.
