Goodyear seeks artists for historical coloring book celebrating city’s 75th anniversary

Finalist to receive $1,000 in compensation

Goodyear artists interested in helping the city add another touch of color to its 75th anniversary celebration are invited to apply to create a 24-page coloring book illustrating the city’s history.

Goodyear incorporated Nov. 19, 1946, and the city has been celebrating since January, when it hosted a socially distanced, livestreamed kick-off event at Loma Linda Park.

Other anniversary projects include the 10 HeARTs of Goodyear murals installed around the city, specially priced passes to the new Goodyear Recreation Campus scheduled to open in July and a time capsule to be sealed in November at Goodyear Civic Square at GSQ, now under construction at McDowell Road and 150th Avenue and expected to be completed next summer.
