Goodyear rezones from commercial to industrial despite resident opposition

Residents asked city to recall application

The city of Goodyear unanimously approved a rezoning application with donor ties, pushing the land from commercial to industrial near the Sedella residential community despite strong neighborhood opposition.

The approval rezones 32 acres from general commercial to light industrial near the intersection of Indian School and Citrus Roads. The approval would allow the construction of four buildings with approximately 28,600, 41,400, 190,000, and 270,800 square feet of space, respectively.

Ed Bull from Phoenix law firm Burch and Cracchiolo PA was the development partner and speaker at the meeting. Reps from Burch and Cracchiolo donated to Mayor Joe Pizzillo’s 2022 campaign, according to a filed finance report.
